SYNOPSIS

Inspired by the Monarch butterflies’ migration from Mexico across North America, this short documentary follows immigrants/their families, LGBTQIA+ Houstonians and the neighborhoods, local businesses and communities that became sanctuaries where we’ve thrived and contributed to the cultural landscape of our city.

WHY

This film will drive representation and paint a genuine picture of how we overcome obstacles, create safe spaces for one another and carry on despite all odds facing our country today.

This project embraces cultural security, diversity, resilience and belonging across generations and backgrounds.
